There are new coordinate systems in the land survey app Apglos Survey Wizard. On the 17th of april 2020 we launched a version of this Android app. We added some things. Check it out what is new.
New in version 2.21 of Apglos Survey Wizard
In version 2.21 of Apglos Survey Wizard we added new feautures. This time we focused on coordinate systems. The improvements we made are:
- adding the transformation for the Russian coordinate systems
- easier selection of entities
- adding the transformations for the Croatian coordinate systems
Added Russian coordinate systems
In Apglos Survey Wizard there are many already predefined coordinate systems. This makes it easy for anyone in those countries of those predefined coordinate systems to start land surveying. We want to make Apglos Survey Wizard usable for everyone. So we need keep on adding coordinate systems.
So since in Apglos Survey Wizard we are not only interested in the horizontal coordinate, but also the height, we need to have a geoid of the country where we add the coordinate systems of. That is why we were looking for the Russian geoid. And for version 2.21 of Apglos Survey Wizard we found the geoid RGG-2003 which is valid for Russia.
So now we could integrate the Russian coordinate systems in Apglos Survey Wizard. And we did. So in Russia now you can use the following coordinate systems: EPSG Arctic zone 3-13, EPSG Arctic zone 3-15, EPSG Arctic zone 3-17 and EPSG Arctic zone 3-19. Besides those coordinate systems you now also can use the EPSG Russia Polar Stereographic.
Because of doing this now we cover a huge area that you can land survey with Apglos Survey Wizard.
Added Croatian coordinate systems
But besides that we added also the coordinate system of Croatia. Croatia is not as big as Russia, but that does not mean it is not important. The geoid of Croatia is HRG2009. And with that geoid Apglos Survey Wizard can now from version 2.21 convert the ellipsoidal heigh the vertical reference system of Croatia.
In Croatia they use several ellipsoids, like ETRS89 and HTRS96. That means there are also several coordinate systems we integrated like Croatia LCC, Croatia TM, UTM zone 33N, UTM zone 34N and LCC Europe.
So there is enough choice to start land surveying in Croatia.
Easier selection of entities
Besides that we made some great improvement in version 2.21 of Apglos Survey Wizard. Before this version it could be hard to select entities like lines, arcs, polylines and polygons. When a point was close than the point was given preference to be selected.
So we decided to make it more easy to select other entities than points. And now in version 2.21 of land survey app Apglos Survey Wizard it is very easy to select lines, arcs, polylines and polygons. From this version on you don’t have to click on the entity it self anymore.
When you click on the map close to the entity, the entity that is closest to the point on the map you clicked will be selected. This makes it so much easier to work with those kind of entities.
It is more easy to draw, calculate and to delete these entities. And that makes you able to work faster and quicker than before.
That is why we update all the time. We want the best for you. And we know that Apglos Survey Wizard is the best, but that does not mean it can even be better. So if you have any ideas let us know and we will improve this land survey app even more.
